Not having any experience with drawing hands, I figured this would be tough. I also wanted to stick with trying out the dip pens and brushes, which made it doubly tough. The result shows my lack of skill at this point, but it was a fun drawing to try (hands in snow). Even though the drawing didn’t come out very well, I feel like I got a bit better at controlling the dip pen. Progress.
Inktober Day 8: Ghost
Dip pens, brushes and ink arrived today! I decided to give them a shot with a simpler drawing, so I printed out some clip art and tried to replicate it. Overall I’m happy with the first attempt.
I had a bit of difficulty with spattering ink on certain strokes. That led to a couple of crumpled up attempts, but by the third drawing that problem was noticeably less.
Inktober Day 7: Witch
I wanted to return to drawing faces, because my vampire from two days ago was such a mess. I can see a few things I like better about this drawing. Still a long way to go. One week down!
Inktober Day 6: Death
Whew. Another struggle. I have no idea what I’m doing with shading…
Inktober Day 5: Vampire
Yikes. This was a struggle. Probably my weakest effort so far. Faces are hard…
