This was a tricky one to take in a non-gory direction, but I finally stumbled onto this drawing that looked like it would serve as good practice. Printed it out and got busy with the Staedler pens.
Inktober Day 13: Eye
Back to the Staedler pens for this one.
Inktober Day 12: “Two are better than one”
This prompt had me going in circles since last night. Pretty much two of anything good is better than one of a good thing. I started settling in on feet, legs, shoes, eyes, etc., but I didn’t have the mojo to try drawing two of any of those. It wasn’t until I was eating dinner that I realized I knew what I wanted to draw. Ding!
This was the first drawing I did from a live object, instead of imagination or working from looking at another image. I was surprised at how challenging this was. I went back to the dip pens and brush and figured that there wouldn’t be much to the drawing. But this was hard!
Inktober Day 11: What are we fighting for?
I broke out the new Staedler pens this evening. It was nice to have a variety of line thicknesses to work with. Big thumbs up.
This was the hardest day to draw, as I didn’t get a chance to start until after midnight. Got it done, though! Woot!
Inktober Day 10: Fragile
Day 3 with the dip pens, India ink, and brushes. The water on this one was harder than I imagined it would be. I started too dark with the ripples, and never recovered.
